I used a dental lab surgical blade because it was thin and tempered. |

Related: GS4 switch. I got one on a lark during the sale, and I've got mixed feelings about it. It works, but there's no constant-on option, the form factor is kinda thick, and the knobs stick out by a mile. I ordered some new metric screws in an attempt to ditch the knobs and make it a little more usable. That said, it's pretty much the only game in town for mixing a separate device with a GL4/5 Pro, so I guess it is what it is. I also got a GL4 Pro "facelift edition", which I put on my B&T USW-G setup. On the whole, decent improvements. You're much less likely to ND the device with the updated controls, the turrets are smaller and feel more solid, the instructions are easier to read and you've got a better mounting system for smaller pistols with the movable lug. There's also some machining differences for no obvious reason. (As an aside, this is the third version of the turrets I've seen - large, large with the two dots, and smaller with two dots). I'm not sure I'm in love with the new controls - pushing in the switches to activate has a surprising amount of resistance - but they're probably an overall improvement. |
| Just got my GL5 Pro in hand. Much smaller than I expected. QD lever feels a little cheap, but other than that the unit feels solid. Green laser seemed pretty powerful, and the light seemed adequate for a pistol or PCC (it’ll be going on an AP5). Haven’t played with the IR features yet but hopefully soon. |
