Rifling twist????

Just bought a Ruger American Predator in 6mm creedmoor, specifically because it is advertised on Ruger's website as having a 1:7.7 twist for the heavier bullets. I cleaned it up, ran a patch through the barrel, and thought it didn't look right on my cleaniing rod, so I used a tight patch and carefully measured the twist, twice. It is 1:9.5, not as advertised.... what's up with that???? Might as well have kept my 243!!

I'm thinking there's no marking on the barrel, right?

I'd call Ruger and see what they say.

If you do, please let us know what they say.

It is marked 6mm creedmoor and is in fact chambered as such

I thought all the Ruger barrels were hammer forged. I'd expect to see some variation in a button rifled barrel but a hammer forged barrel should be right on because of the way they are produced.
