I just got rejected on my longest F1 wait time to date. Their reason for disapproval is I didn't put "SerialXXXXXX". I put the actual serial number which is XXXXXX. Is there anyway to resolve this without resubmitting? They are clearly wrong and if I resubmit it like the retard wants they are just going to reject that. |

Unfortunately, most likely you'll have to resubmit and hope the next examiner isn't retarded. It's not guranteed, but you can try emailing them at IPB @ atf.gov with your issue, I think some people have had some success contacting that email instead of the NFAFAX or "ask the experts" route. |

To my eyes it looks like H&R has "SERIAL" followed by a space and then the serial number. The two are close but that very much looks like it is due to the overall margins of the engraving. Wouldn't be the first time I have been wrong though. @mike_nds Are the serial numbers on the H&R lowers, specifically the Commandos, "SERIALXXXXXX" or "XXXXXX"? |

Yeah I got a denial for only the number once and not the preceding letters. Funny thing was I was going off a previous approval a couple years earlier. I went ahead and contacted ATF via letter to fix that oops. And I resubmitted the denial. But it only took 14 days. Sorry OP. |
Damn. I submitted about a dozen or so in February. I had one kicked back, four approved (in two weeks) and now crickets for the last 8 or so. Weird, inconsistent process and knowing my luck, I've waited almost five months and will get them back "disapproved" and have to resubmitt ![]() Ah, the wonderful NFA world... ![]() ROCK6 |

I have a Spikes lower that I’m doing a .45 D/I SBR… same thing. Two months, disapproval and said that but also that the manufacturer “must match the lower.” LLC isn’t on there, so ended up in pending research, got out and the name was jacked up in the eForm. Reached out to them to correct. Person said manufacturer’s name DOES NOT need to match the lower… pulled it and I needed to resubmit a third time. Thought DEI was over. Sorry, but if I have “Mod” before ST15, it is logical that the similar placement is signifying “Serial” instead of being part of it. But also why if I need to run a serial number (to see if stolen), I’d run just the numbers, which should pull both. Society is on its way out… |

In general, I think you should leave it off but I have seen at least one person recently disapproved for not including "Sig" in the model name for a Sig MPX. In contrast, I was recently disapproved after a nearly 80-day wait for specifying "HK SP5K-PDW" for model, as it appears on the top of the firearm and in the picture I submitted with my application. I was directed to reapply specifying just "SP5K-PDW", which I really should have done in the first place, regardless of what appeared on the firearm. But to their credit, they saw the issue with me having to reapply while facing the July 1st deadline in Virginia, so they offered to fast track my resubmitted application, which was pretty solid. |

He could see how you could go either way, and that I leaned into specifying exactly what was on the firearm. |

Off topic, but to me that doesn't bode well for Va post form 1 approval's for affected firearms. Really should have bought my AP5 earlier than I did. |

I had a similar issue with a model number recently. Numerous other approvals with exactly what I submitted. I reached out to my congressman just because. These fucks need reminded they work for us. All for a $0 tax stamp… The only silver lining is this sort of shit is going to help us with the pending lawsuits IMO. |
