Looking to replace my integrally suppressed 10/22 barrel - it’s quiet as shit, but has dogshit accuracy. Well I’ve got a couple other 6” thread on 22LR cans and since SBR’ing a 10/22 doesn’t cost a tax stamp anymore I might as well put a short barrel on the 10/22 so it’s still short and almost just as quiet. What’s a good value on an accurate 8-12” threaded 10/22 barrel? Bull barrel profile is a bonus; the stock is already sized for a full length. It’s not like I’m trying to do rimfire competition here… Just wage war on chipmunks and moles terrorizing the garden and back yard. Quarter-sized accuracy at 25-50 yards would make me super happy. The 10” Kidd Heavy and Light threaded barrels looks nice… But $220-$260 for a is a decent chunk of change for essentially a fun-gun. Anything else worthwhile looking at for my needs? BA? Faxon? I expect that works reasonably well. Can you shoot acceptably with that short sight radius? Pop cans at 40 yards, that kind of thing? |

I had a local gunsmith drill and tap my 10" Acu-Lite Takedown barrel for a front/rear Williams Firesight set. The barrel contour matched perfectly, as the CVA barrel is nearly the same diameter as the Acu-Lite barrel bull barrel. $75 for the labor. |

I found a video I had posted a while back. It shows the sights at the beginning. Not a remarkable feat, but I was hitting an 8x10 steel plate at 100 yds. with the short sight radius.  10/22 Pocket Rifle |
