I have a Thompson Center Contender, in .35 Remington, with a scope mount, and no scope, so it's not doing much for me now. I'm thinking: A low power VO, 1ish to 6x, should be plenty plus for the range of a .35 Remington. Red dot center - makes it much more useful in low light. Will have a full TC rifle stock, so I don't need a pistol or red dot eye relief. Something that I can mount low bore axis and get me all lined up for the recoil. I know .35 Rem isn't .458 Win Mag, but it's not .223 either. Cost - sub 300 bucks - this won't be a defensive gun of course, a range gun, maybe shoot a hog if I had the chance, but not taking it on a high dollar hunt. I really don' like Primary Arms stuff, so not going that route. Suggestions? Thanks, |
| An illuminated dot low power variable under $300 is likely a challenge if you want decent glass. Maybe go to the equipment exchange here and look for an older Leupold 1.5-4x 20 with Firedot reticle. (VX Freedom or VX-R Patrol) . 4x is plenty with the .35 Rem. |
