My Fort Knox safe has been maxed out and I had stuff laying all over the place. Not wanting to lug another safe home I needed to get my crap locked up. Since ammo and mags have gotten stupid expensive (and more costly to replace) I wanted to secure them as well. I added a couple jobsite tool boxes with cylinder locks that is better than having things laying around. The only thing I added was a cut piece of subfloor to the bottom to distribute weight. They are the perfect height for a bench to sit on or a work table. They are not a safe replacement but far better than hiding things laying around. Easy to move into place and filled with ammo it's heavier than my gun safe.       Good locks -  |

I use one for ammo. I should probably get another someday, I’ve been looking at the 4 foot wide one for storing mags and other accessories And I’m like the poster above, I’d cry if I lost all my ammo. Attached File |

Love my Rigid tool box for ammo storage. Little difficult to keep organized. But well worth it. This is an old picture. But I’ve pretty much standardized on stacking 3 50 cal ammo cans per row. Turned sideways, I can get 3 rows - front to back. Attached File |

Beats letting it lay around. My small box Rural King had on sale for $250 which I could not pass up. No, it's not a safe but I feel better it's locked up and not easy to carry away. My Fort Knox safe is 1100 lbs and not fun to move. Even the big job boxes are around 250 lbs empty and far easier to move. Now that it's filled with ammo it does not move. |

I had the smaller sized Rigid brand box in a closet for years (painted over the orange so it didn’t stand out so much) and it held like 8x50cal cans plus 4x30cal cans. If you still don't need that much room, look at the smaller truck tool boxes or under bed/trailer tool boxes. Tractor Supply, Northern Tools, etc. Might find some used on Craigslist or FB Marketplace |
