I have a tall front sight blade I had on there for it to be zeroed at 100 yards. I have access to a steel silhouette range with targets from 200-1000 and it just is a lot more fun with the original sight on there. I tend to go back and forth with it. I put the original back on yesterday so the rear tangent zeroed at 300 meters. Anyways I shot a few targets at 100 yards to get the front sight drifted to the right spot. Ammo is 120 Grain HPBT by Prvi Partizan. I have dies and everything to reload for it but I am still working on the 500rds of Prvi I bought for it on top of the 300 rds the rifle came with. I need to look up what bullet weight the rear tangent sight is meant to be calibrated for. I love this rifle. I think it's not bad for my 44 YO eyes (still don't need glasses). I wonder when I reload for it I can do better. I was shooting in my backyard and grilling chicken breasts for food prep as you can see in the photo.    |

I love Swede Mausers. A year or two ago I didn't have any and now I have three M96's. The 6.5 guns are so much more pleasant than any 30 caliber or larger gun, I can shoot them all day and not get beaten up. Also nice to see that you still have the range plate on your rifle and it doesn't look like your muzzle has been threaded either. Two of mine don't have the threaded muzzle but only one of the three still has the range plate. |

The last Swedish military loading was a 140/141 grain projectile. The 96 in all of it's configurations is my favorite vintage military rifle to shoot. That '94 is gorgeous. Always wanted one. |

The rest of his collection, including the M94, were open for bid to friends. He also had a nice M96 (which I got to shoot back in 2000) up for bid. The funny thing is that another friend of his was the only one to bid on the M96 and I was the only one to bid on the M94, so that worked out well. |

I have 2 1898 CG one has a threaded barrel and the other doesn't. The unthreaded has a unit disk with two off center screw holes no third center hole of the drop disk. It is super nice. So might have been an officers rifle. I cant remember what unit was off hand The threaded has a drop chart disk. Has all three holes for both disks The threaded has 3 of what I think are rack marks. Looks like a mushroom shape. I believe this was a training rifle and was updated as the unit disk was replaced and probably threaded for the wood blank adapter. I also have a very early 1899 CG that is the same as the 1898 threaded but has 25 or so of the mushroom marks. I paid 300 for the two 1898 when non 1898 went for about 100 I paid 700 about 2 years ago for the 1899 |
| I have a couple of M96's. I remember paying $110 for my 1909 in about 1995. I don't recall what I paid for my 1898, but it's really fun showing it to people. I cover the date and ask them to tell me when they think it was made. Everyone is surprised when the date is revealed. |
