So apparently the PRT cans are going to be priced near the $1K mark and production will be ramped up. That’s an amazing bargain for a one of one in relation to reducing first round pop. Not so great for folks like me who paid $1.8K for it, in that if something came up and I have to sell non essentials then I may be able to get $800 for it ( $600 after paying the tax ).
A sizable credit for a future Knight’s product ( maybe through Lawmen’s ) would not be inappropriate ( IMHO ).

So you bought at $1.8k, and thought that was a fair price, but then when economies of scale kicked in and capitalism worked as intended, you got upset?

I don’t think Knight’s or anyone else owes anyone anything. Sorry you bought before the price drop.

I get what youre saying but the comparison is apples and bowling balls.

Also these suppressors were brand new for 2024.. I would guess that many expected them to be the newest for at least a little while.

How would you feel if you got a brand new car the day they came out and then the price was halved as a new model was announced a week later?

(Idc either way I got a prs for 1.2k and a prg for 1.6k both on sale)

I bought welded 556 QDC cans and just a few years later they introduced new flow through cans!!

KAC owes me money for the cancer I’m gonna get from these cans. How dare they introduce new and better products!

I would be upset too. A lot of companies avoid doing this sort of thing because the people that buy them first are typically loyal customers. In many cultures, it's considered rude to screw over your loyal customers because you wanted $800.

That being said, great news on the price cut. Becomes competitive with a lot of other cans.

Hopefully that economies of scale thang kicks in on the KS3 URG and they are readily available and @ $900.00…
I do actually feel bad for the fella that bought the upper that came with my factory Knight’s SBR but I get your point and I hope he doesn’t ask for a tribute on part of the $3.5K he spent.
BTW, my stock $1,100.00 Mod 1 Geissele 11.5” URG is priceless with the CRS. I know the PRT was not made for the CQB and I don’t know if the CRS is made for the KS3 but I will pay up for the KS3 if the usual suspects review her well.

I think with how quick they can design and redesign suppressors now, we'll be seeing a lot of new and updated suppressors more quickly than the past.
It really was crazy that they dropped the prices like that, I can't even remember the last time I saw a price dropping on anything in the past few years.

Sounds good to me. I just bought my first 556 can last month. It’s pretty gassy. Gives me a reason to get a flow. Through can without feeling as guilty.

I paid full price for CRS cans in 5.56 and 7.62 this year.  They're awesome and I considered it worth the money.

I am super excited to buy more of the newer, shorter, lighter ones they're coming out with for less money too.  I'm sure they will be awesome as well.

Not just a new model but heavily discounting and mass producing the CRS in the same year that it came out!
It’s not just bad form, it’s inexcusable. It would be like De Beers flooding the market to halve diamond prices overnight. There’s a solid history and expectation with KAC of at least maintaining a resale price close to the purchase price. This ( and their unparalleled attention to detail ) is why you pay $3K for a KAC URG that is literally no better than a $1K Mod1 Geissele URG.
Yea it’s not just bad form. It’s inexcusable what they did to glitch The Matrix as such.
A $600.00 credit towards a future KAC purchase to every full price PRT buyer would not be inappropriate.

OP the entitlement is real with ya lmao. This thread read like a parody filled with butt hurts.

If a car company introduced a new model in Jan 2024 and you bought it at msrp, because you thought the price was fair, in Feb or Mar and drove it around until the car company lowered the price of said car in Dec 2024 do you drive back to the dealer and demand credits?

"pay $3K for a KAC URG that is literally no better than a $1K Mod1 Geissele URG."

How is it "no better" than a URG?   I think the super duty offers more than the URG.  The new KS series is going to offer more than the super duty.

Horrible comparison...cars get refreshed with a new model yearly. It's expected. Guns and accessories generally do not. Add to the fact wait times and nfa headache BS most expect their new thing to be remain new for at least a minute

My comparison of a week later is more appropriate.

You wouldn't be a little pissed if you bought a car and a week or two later the price was halved with a new model announced?

Again, Idc either way and got mine on sale but I understand why some are peeved.

Tesla did this very suddenly with their cars and people got mad but cheaper product with same performance = better. You paid the early adopter tax - a concept consistent across every industry when new tech is developed.
Do I understand that it stings? Sure, but if you thought that it was worth it when you paid for it then it is what it is. The mass production that you see from other brands doing printed cans should have indicated that these were not going to hold value like the old NT4s.

At least now you can get a new one for cheaper if you actually manage to shoot it out completely. At about 20K rounds for $0.40 each, that's $8,000 in ammo before you have to replace it.
Do most people want KAC products to be more accessible and available or do they want KAC to make less things so that your "investment" is secure?

This is just true of silencers in general. The tech and development is moving fast where your stuff is “outdated” maybe before your stamp clears. But you buy KAC because you want it. It’s not a value or bargain purchase. KAC cans are already on the top end and that’s known when you are shopping them.

I just emailed Samsung demanding a $500 gift card because they a released a 75” TV this year with much better specs and $500 cheaper than their same-class 75” TV that I bought from them last year.  It’s just not fair that as technology becomes better and production cheaper that they screw consumers over by producing better products at cheaper prices.  What a bunch of dicks.  I’ll keep you all posted with how they respond.

Specifically related to the CRS.
I understand the PRT is not made for the CQB and I don’t know if the CRS is made for the KS3 or for the KS1 but I do know that the CRS and CQB don’t play well with each other ( in addition to not fitting ) but the Geissele SD Mod1 URG and the KAC QDC/CRS PRT are like a match made in heaven.
As for the ridiculous comparisons ^^^, you have to compare KAC with De Beers and Rolex to be offering anything but trolling. If De Beers or Rolex cut their price in half for one of their premier products ( the KAC QDC/CRS PRT is a one of one. It deserves to be $1,800.00, there is no suppressor that comes close to eliminating first round pop and visible signature under nods in the marketplace ) then certainly most loyal customers would do a Bud Light thang on them. Forever like.
I’ve been a Knights fanboi since before 9/11. If they wanna make a lesser product ( and still 6 ounces too heavy to measure up against Hux ) to compete in the low weight flow through suppressor space then that’s their business. What they are doing with this CRS suppressor is not even a money thing. It’s like an admission that they exaggerated the things that made the CRS so far ahead of the competition and they have to drop the price to recoup R&D; instead of holding firm on principle ( the KAC way ) and not changing anything until someone came up with a better mousetrap.
If I were that Brit who vouched for the requisition, I’d be worried.

I bought two CRS suppressors at full price 6 months ago and I am giddy at the prospect of getting lighter versions for less money.  The ones I have are great, and I don't regret spending a cent of the money I did on them.  If I can buy more for less I will happily do so, because they work well for me and the company's products have never let me down.

I understand the issue with buying a suppressor at 1800 then the newer version comes out shortly thereafter that is improved at a lower price.  Id be alittle annoyed as well.  As to your statement that the cqb isnt made for the crs, I dont know if I am tracking.  I am running the ks-3 as a duty rifle with the cqb crs prt, knights needs to stop with the abbreviations, and that system as a whole is exceptional.  I agree that the flash suppression under nods is the best of one of the best out right now.  I am around 6,000 rounds through the weapon system and counting.  the only thing I wish from the crs prt was that it was lighter and it seems that are going to be doing that.  I am heading to shot this year and look forward to talking with knights about it.

So, OP, with this logic, are you saying you should be paying KAC more if they raised their price after you bought a suppressor?

It wasn’t KAC’s choice for you to buy their item at early adopter price. Economies of scale, the Trump Slump and ever-growing competition is going to bring down prices even further.

You have helped fund more 3d printers and personnel to bring down the cost even more for the rest of us.

The new lighter offering will not be anywhere near better than the CRS in relation to eliminating first round pop and then continuing to offer unparalleled reduction of visible signature under nods. You do understand this simple fact, correct ??

I can’t see any way that those will come in at that price. Nothing about the rifles/uppers is economy of scale. I just hope I get the notification fast enough to get a ks-1 if it comes available.

I don't know what all this "new model came out" stuff is all about. I bought a KAC 5.56 QDC/CRS-PRT on Oct 28th for $1800, and today (little over 2 months) that exact same can is $1250. There's no new model here. I'm a little irritated.

They are available through our dealers, even though they might not be aware that they exist.
Dealers and distributors can reach out to their KAC rep to place an order, and when we have adequate volume beyond our contract obligations we will make them available via the KAC webstore.

God will not look you over for medals, diplomas, or degrees – but for scars

Once I own something I stop thinking about what I paid for it and just enjoy it. If the difference between $1800 and $1000 is that big of a deal, I’d suggest that maybe neither should be in one’s budget. Does it sting a bit when prices get lowered after you’ve paid the higher price? Yes it does. Buy one or two more to dollar cost average.

I’m in the process of doing just that with the CRS and in a few many years if there’s a better can for reducing first round pop and eliminating the signature on the following rounds ( maybe the RC4 ? ) then I’ll get one of those but I’ll never again pay above Geissele money for a Knight’s Armament product. Hopefully that whole economy of scale thang kicks in for all KAC stuff because I like their attention to detail.

Thank God for this price drop.  I never thought I’d have a practical reason to buy a MCQ.  But now for only $1003 at Rooftop Defense, I don’t need a practical reason to justify the price.  Form 3’d and on the way to my dealer!
