I am picking up my new to me M249 today. Do you belt fed owners use a linker to put your belts togther? What model? If you don't use a linker, do you have any tips to share when loading belts? |

I professionally carried an M249. While our belts typically arrived preassembled I liked to reconfigure the tracer arrangement. 556 belts are very easy to assemble. Now I assemble whole belts while watching the news. M13 links for 762 and the HK belts are also not a big issue to do by hand. So far as tips, you will develop your own technique and save a bunch of money on a loader |
