OK, to take this on or leave it be. TLDR to follow. Found a Ka-Bar on my commute this week. It spent a night out in the rain, but I can clean up rust, nicks etc. Here's the Part I don't know about - the Pommel took a shot at some point (driven over times X?) and has a cant to it, maybe 10-15 degrees. So - let it be with a little gap in the handle, or repair? If repair, how do I go about that, I don't have a good shop, just a 4" vise, biggest hammer would be a 2#, no way to heat or quench? |

For a cheap simple repair, maybe it could be cold worked. Grip the pommel in the vice and gently work the other end like a lever to straighten. Wrap the blade so you don't cut yourself. Don't work it back and forth, only in the direction it needs to move to straighten the pommel. Any remaining gap could be filled with a washer or something. |
