the cummerbunds are the same, and are made to fit 6x6s, however ive used the issue 6x8 esapi plates in them but they stick up.

Ah, great. Thanks for the info.

Found these old photos of a custom HSGI plate carrier. Trade or sold a couple years ago.

I think you sold it to me, or at least I got it from someone else.  I love this rig.  I have recently switched to a banshee due to the soft armor in the cummerbund.

Made a few changes.... this is now my "bump in the night" set-up.  { Extra mags and light } I've got it sized so that I'm able to slip it on just like a shirt.
*The IFAK and other stuff went back on my MAV for range and class use.

Here is my Mayflower APC, I've only got to use this so far in 2 classes and I keep changing stuff around. I think this set up works very well.

Heres my Mayflower APC
Essac KYWI Rifle Mag pouch
Tactical Tailor Pistol Mag pouch
Eagle Admin Pouch
HSGI Bleeder
PIG Hydration Carrier
Mayflower triple mag insert in the left cummerbund (cut to fit radio in last pouch, still will retain a mag)

I'm content with this set up. Thinking about adding a FastMag on my left side and thats it really. Next I gotta build my belt.

The rig is a Mayflower APC with plates & backers, ATS Tripple mag pouch, Mayflower tripple mag insert on left side and front, HSGI Bleeder, EMDOM Vehicle Hydration pack, ATS Mag pouch for my V2, blueforce double pistol mag pouch and dump pouch, horizontal padded NVG pouch (can't remember the make). The radio is a ICOM and the PTT is one of the MSA units, I run them both with Sordins.

It's a great setup, I've spent a lot of time trying different things and this is what works for me. The only thing I've changed is I've moved one of the tourniquets to the left side JIC something happens to my right side.

Finally got everything together. Last thing going on is a name tape in multicam. Experimented a little with the color combos. Im in love with it. Might change the triple pouch to multicam but so far I like it.

Eagle Plate Carrier with Cummerbund  Khaki
TAD Gamma + Level III Plates
TAD Triple Kangaroo Pouch Coyote
Eagle Single M4 Pouch Multicam
Eagle Admin Pouch Multicam
Eagle Hydration Carrier Multicam
Eagle M9 Mag Pouches Coyote
Eagle CIRAS Shoulder Pads Coyote
Eagle Utility Pouch Coyote
Maxpedition Dump Pouch Khaki

Shellback Banshee
ESAPI front and rear plates
Battlelab Side-Plates
ATS Triple Shingle

I'd really like to add an IFAK, but the USGI one I have feels too bulky, and that was before adding the sideplates.

I'm LE but my admin would shit a brick if I were to break out the plate carrier on duty for any reason. With that said, my PIG always has plates in it.

I've got ESAPI front and rear plates, Battle lab steel sideplates, and a concealable vest in lieu of backers.

Plate carriers without plates suck compared to a dedicated chestrig. And with the variety of chest rigs out there using a plate carrier seems a bit much.

I do as well, front/back/sides.  Also use a Blast Belt for my "warbelt" platform.  I figure if I ever actually need to use any of my gear, I'll be wanting armor with that.

Is that seriously a Haley Strategic patch?

standard plate carrier. I've got the buckles on the shoulders to attach my HSGI warlord if I want, if I need more mags for a big operation in trucks, but I prefer to run a warbelt if we're dismounted. Radio and 4 mags in ATS puches on the plate carrier, bodywhip and hydration on back, frags, mags, nods and other admin mumbo jumbo on the warbelt. I won't wear anything with straps like a rig or anything over the plate carrier, because vehicles burn like crazy and in an IED dudes are dropping their plate carriers and scambing out of overturned vehicles. Harder than it sounds, especially with kit on.
