Better form factor than a Nalgene and I loop the shock cord around the bottle neck to keep retained. Works good enough for me. I’ve tried a couple. Prefer fully enclosed to keep crap off the bottles, but it makes some things difficult. Tacvalve and nalgene with humangear capcap are too tall for most flap pouches. Ones with Y strap or shock cord retention are needed for those. Learned the hard way that Shaw suspenders are less than ideal for a loaded belt kit, popped a bunch of stitches when shrugging them on. Thankfully, they’re bartacked, as well. |

Better late than never, but picked up a great starter base, and tweaked her a bit and loving it. I have had hodgepodge kits before, but this is my first "legitimate" quality, so I wanted to share it with yall.   Build - Spiritus LV119 Overt Front and Back LV119 Elastic Cummerbund (Size 2) HRT Maximus Placard WTF Hyrdo Bag Placard has tiny ouch pouch, with a tourniquet, chest seal gloves, etc. Bag doesn't have a camelbak yet, as I may just opt for it as basic storage rather than hydro full time. Having been a bigger guy, this kit allowed me to use my XL plates; yes, i know they are larger than needed (though i guess i am still bigger, so...), but i can manage the weight and would rather have too much than too little (right now). I do have a set of large plates, and i might even try em in the carrier; but that carrier is also the prime setup for the wife. |
