Its like a lot of others but its ALL mine. well heres the break down of my peashooter. rifle started its life as a walmart ss special. butler creek 20in ss fluted barrel, flutes painted by me. .920 butler creek stock with dual palm swells weaver rings and base bushnell (forgot model) 3-9x40 kidd trigger group. from here harris brm bipod got a new bolt for it that is has the deadspace surface ground and squared to .0425, firing pin staked, lower rear is heavily radiused for smoother funtion, and visible side is jeweled for looks it use to have a ss trigger group with all the volquartsen goodies but now i have upgraded!  i have read that butler creek wasnt all that great. but this thing proves it wrong.  i have shot 10shot-one ragged hole- at 50yds. oh and this is with federal lightnings. i have the barracuda stock coming for it tomorrow and will post pics when i get it together. |

i think the kidd trigger group blows the vq one clear out the water!!from what i see it is cnc machined, it is very nice. if i where to buy another barrel it would probably be one from green mountain or whistle pig. most likely a whislte pig though since they offer custom barrels and i have read great results from the wp. stock wise i really liked the butler creek dual palm swell, it is real comfortable. i now have the barracuda stock on it which is really nice also but kinda over doing it for me but im gonna leave it on there for now. thanks for the compliments here are some new pics with the barracuda stock.

| I'm hoping to one day make it available to everyone as a kit, but i'm just a poor white man. So for now there is only one. The problem is that both the barrel and the receiver have to be permantly modified for all the sheet metal to fit properly, and nobody wants to CUT there rifle. If I went comercial, i'd most likely sell premilled barrels, who knows?, maybe one day...doesn't seem to be any market anyway. |

That would be great,. Mabye just sell them as completed rifles, instead of kits. |
One of the best looking in this thread. Great job. How did you work it? What tools? What did you use to cut the slots? I've got an old one in the closet that would look a lot better with those mods. |

Wow, thanks  I used a band saw to cut the major parts out, then a file to round it out and cut the finger grooves, then sandpaper. The finger grooves were designed to fit my hand specifically, but no one else has complained about them. It is actually pretty lightweight and comfortable. The slots were marked out, then drilled with a hand drill, then connected with a coping saw... Pain in the butt... After sanding and getting them to look right they were a bit larger than I intended but still look good. I actually don't have that stock any more - since about a week ago. Since I built that gun, every time my dad went out with me he grabbed it and shot it all day. So for Christmas I gave him a reciever and bolt and let him use my discount to buy parts and promised him a stock like mine. Well, I don't have a lot of free time so last week I gave him that stock because I hadn't even started on his. I'll just use my other 10/22s until I get the time to do another one. |
