Is or has anyone mounted a picatinny rail on an RPD top cover for mounting an LPVO?  I bough a spare top cover and want to get something mounted up for it.  I would prefer more than a red dot since I am getting decent accuracy with mine and can make steel hits out to 500 yard  with it.  However, age and eyes have other plans for that so a little magnification would help keep that going.

Thanks,
Ghilly

I did one once just for S&G.  Removed the rear sight, which provided a nice flat area for the front of the rail section, them made a "post" or "column" to support the rear, drilled a hole through it, and bolted it to the top cover.

Probably not suitable for slotting floppies or jumping out of the back of a C-130 with it, but enabled me to fool around with a scoped RPD.

The best solution is out there already.

Is there anywhere to get the above rail? Was it made in countries other than Poland?
Every time I look I cannot find them offered anywhere.

I did get DSA’s aluminum picatinny handguard, but I haven’t tried it yet with an optic.
Kinda worried about it getting too hot since mine is full auto.

I do have a spare top cover, so I’d like to see pics too please @Silverbear_51

Sorry guys.  I do not currently have access to that top cover and I don't have any pics.

I'm only aware of Russia and Poland producing the swing-away rail.
