I sort of see the reasons for the crazy prices on new levers, Inflation and all . At least Ruger is making a far better product than the mess Remington was sending out. I am quite pleased at the cash I spent for most of my old school levers , mostly used. At the time the $450 I spent for my Marlin cowboy in 44mag was pretty steep |

Ordered a Dark 44 today (not from PSA, they are out of stock). Fuck prices are ridiculous. Payed a couple shackles (I think $20) over MSRP-but MSRP is frelled. What really sucks - it will be my second 44 Dark. They changed the barrel twist... New barrel twist can stabilize a 400gr subsonic. |

You cannot compare the price of a lever action to an AR-15, etc. Levers require much more hand fitting and are not mass produced in large numbers like a modern rifle. |

A source of lever actions that is a solid company. That is good. Prices seem high, but look at the price of everything else you buy today. Always a thread about the good old days of surplus in the ‘80s. But look at the take home pay during the same time period. Also these guns are not priced for the “it’s a tool” crowd. It’s priced for the nostalgia crowd. Only downside of today’s lever action market is, what I feel, is the lack of variety in what is available, especially in caliber choices. Bring back the sleek levers like the Savage 99. |
