I had a semi auto PKM built from a parts kit. If I ride the charging handle forward, the bolt carrier sticks a cm or two out of battery and it takes significant force to push it all the way in to battery. In trying to track down where this stickiness was coming from, I pulled off the barrel -- and the issue went away. When putting the barrel back on, i discovered the gas tube is significantly higher than the mating portion of the gas block, and I had to really flex things to get them to mate up. See picture 1. This seems to be where the issue is coming from as the gas piston head enters this area. The gas tube itself is not bent or damaged. I've pulled it out of the gun and reinstalled it and the issues persists. Since the gas tube mates into the same front trunion as the barrel, how is it even possible that these could be misaligned? Secondly, as I was looking into this issues, I noticed the front trunion rivets don't look to be squished as much as I would expect. Do the rivets in picture 2 and 3 look right?    |
