Attached File RAR in 5.56 with a Leupold Rifleman 4-12x40 I'm trying to decide if I should submit a Form 1 and cut the barrel back to 11-11.5". Either way, it'll end up with a YHM QD mount. |

 An updated picture of my Mannlicher 10/22, now with sling and RDS. Not a centerfire, but it does kinda look the part

I'm actually taking it out tomorrow for the first time to get it sighted in for a hunt this weekend. I'll report back on the accuracy it produces. I'll be putting the Hornady 250gr FTX through it. My experience with the No. 1 rifles, which I love, are they either shoot lights out or shoot piss poor. I had a 45-70 No. 1 that shot like absolute crap, and my No. 1 in 460 S&W Magnum also shot poorly. I've had a couple Tropicals in safari calibers, though, that shot really good. My 416 Rem Mag was sub-MOA. With that said, my buddy who is a huge hunter has only hunted deer with shotguns his whole life. He got a Ruger American Go Wild in .450 Bushmaster and asked me to sight it in for him. I don't remember the group size but my final 3-shot shot group to confirm zero at 100 yards was sub-MOA with Winchester 250gr Extreme Point ammo. |

I fired 3 3-shot groups, and 1 5-shot group. The rifle shot very consistently. At 100 yards the 3 shot groups were as follows: 1.3", 1.5", and 1.5". The single 5-shot group was 1.8". It's not sub-MOA but I am perfectly content with that for hunting out to 250 yards which is the max effectiveness of the round. I was also fighting the trigger which has an almost 5# pull weight, so it isn't great by any means. Overall I think the accuracy is perfectly fine for a hunting rifle. |

I now have Boyd's stocks on 3 of my 4 Ruger American rifles. From top to bottom 30-06,. .308 and 5.56. Attached File As far as I know they do not make a stock for the 7.62x39mm or I would have that too. |

Here's my 583 series Ranch Rifle. With a Tech Sight rear sight, a wood handguard, and Cogburn stripper clip guide. Really just a range toy that scratches my Garand/M1 Carbine/M14 itch while using 5.56 ammo that I already have plenty of. The stripper clip guide is a bit finicky and definitely takes some practice to use well. But that's what you get from a rifle that wasn't really meant to feed from stripper clips. Hence, just a range toy. But I still like shooting it more than my AR.

Many pix of folks using early (Pencil barrel) Minis and folks using later "heavy barrel" Minis. Accuracy claims widely different. Apples to oranges. Later "heavy-barreled" Minis shoot far more accurately than do the "Pencil-barreled "Early" Minis. Even so, the Early Minis can certainly benefit from an "Accu-Strut" and perhaps some careful fitting of barreled action to the stock. My early 185 series Mini, with many mods, shoots within 2 MOA all day long. |
