Anyone tried the Taiwanese 30 rounders? Our carbines have the "M2-style" mag catches. |

KCI are functional, but the metal is softer than GI mags, and it seems thinner than GI. To me, they are not long term durable. Keep Shooting mags are as good as, or better than, my vintage GI WWII magazines, and they are on sale. |

After I bought my first Cal .30 M1 Carbine, I bought a some vintage GI mags, and some KCI mags. The KCI mags work, but they are not the same as the GI mags. When I bought some Keep Shooting carbine mags it was immediately noticeable that they are top quality magazines. Recently my 3rd order of twelve Keep Shooting magazines arrived, nine 15 round, and three 30 round. I have not purchased any additional KCI's. YMMV. |

I gotta say you guys were right. The KeepShooting mags are way nicer than the KCI. I got my first batch of ten 15rd'ers and took my mag pickiest carbine to the range and it ran like a top! I've primarily used the KCI in the past and some USGI but right away you can tell the KeepShooting mags are quality. The followers move smoothly and the spring tension is very consistent. Not the case with KCIs that I have. The finish is also nicer, I believe they're blued and not coated like the KCI. Not that the appearance matters a whole lot but the KCI finish tends to flake off and leave bare metal. So pleased with them that I ordered another batch of 15rd'ers and a couple of the 30rd mags to test as well. Going to shoot them with a couple more carbines today to see if they run in them. Overall very happy with them and these will be my go-to mags to order from now on. |
