(1) So I got two stocks in front of me. 2020 marked stwyr arms inc and 2025 syrys arms gmbh. Just in case you're wondering, the gmbh is more crude. All around. Im confused i thiought they were all molded in austria. (2) what fh for 14.5 p&w; i want min length, but i think u hit 26" oal before u hit 16" bbl oal. (3) is there any way to swap grips between 14.5 bbl fixed grip and 16" bbl folding grip? In other words is just to change the color without changing the function. I'm not sure which color I'm gonna stick with for the stock, so i I don't wanna be stuck with a color on the fixed grip. I don't know maybe I get a black one goes with everything right lol. Eta found thread on grip; glocked with shaved down screw wtf. Can I at least swap grips without leaving a mark on anything? (4) where do I get a green charging handle? (5) given the choice, would it be preferred to have a 16" chromed fn bbl or a 14.5" 1/7 nitrided one? |

I have always heard that the stocks are made in Austria. I even asked a tech when I called Steyr USA and he said they are made in Austria. I love the way my 1:9 16" nitride barrel shoots. It probably won't last as long as a well made CL barrel. IF Steyr started importing Austria made CL AUG barrels. Id probably jump on one. Most of my shooting is from a sandbag rest and I need the front grip to fold. With the 16" it's already plenty short for me. Id probably try a 20" vs a 14.5". |

Found a new 2025 stock and she is ugly. . With the finish on the trimming and the finish on the stock itself the mud one from 2020 looks more respectable to me and I'm not so sure I care about switching it to green anymore. Now I'm stuck trying to decide what color for the 14.5 inch barrel I'm about to buy... can anybody tell me is the pin just retained by the spring or do I have to beat it out to swap grips. |
| I would certainly trust a 2025 made stock more than a 2020 era one. Either way, look at the photos posted on rounding out the sharp corners on the spot where the broken ones failed, it is an easy thing to do if Steyr didn’t do it before shipping it out. |
