Recently picked up this pre64 Winchester 94. Looks to be WW2 production. In pretty good shape but was refinished at some point. I'm wanting to get it back into service and am having a few issues. Attached File 1- Rear band or screw is stripped out and the screw falls out during firing. Repro screws are available but not seeing rear bands anywhere. Any good places to grab one besides Ebay? 2- Front band is very loose. The screw head passes through the band and does not tighten the band. Do I have the wrong band or wrong screw? Attached File 3- During firing, extraction is difficult and requires a very firm effort to extract the fired brass. I'm thinking it might just need cleaned and maybe polish the chamber a bit. Fired brass cases look fine with nothing out of the ordinary. 4- Hammer spring feels very weak. I understand the tension is adjustable but should I grab a new spring. Any other springs or parts I should replace while I am ordering? The rifle is almost 85 years old now. Thanks for the help! |
