| I'd love to have an M1 carbine, for a range toy if nothing else. I see both positive and negative reviews on them. I realize they are probably not mil-spec, but I'm not willing to spend the big $$ for the originals that are available from time to time. Any one have any experiences or thoughts on these? thanks |

I had an AO “Thompson” that was a POS. Front sight spun around on the barrel and it had a pot metal magazine release. Based on that sample of one, I can’t recommend their products. |

At a recent gunshow, I picked up a well worn probable Saginaw restamp in an M2 stock, bayonet lug, late safety, adjustable rear sight. Works fine. $500. I was gonna flip it (FFL) and then I realized I've now bought TWO well worn working carbines from gun shows for $500, gave one to my Da, and I should probably keep this one.  Go here: http://www.m1carbinesinc.com/ Read up, and don't reward non-milspec dimensions, OP. Plenty of old commercial carbines that will take mil-spec parts, but not the new Auto Ordnance or Inland.
