I just saw this new RIX 3-in1 VCSEL laser/illuminator. To my eye it looks a whole lot like a Laserspeed M6TR with a mild facelift, but I may be wrong. Of significant interest is the addition of an ‘LED battery cap’ that appears to turn it into a 4-in-1 unit. The specs seem pretty weak, with only <3mW listed as the VCSEL output. List price is $845. I just bought an IRIS and believe it is the new standard for LAMs. I think this one is going to struggle with that price and low output. Attached File Attached File RIX RIP-3C |

I believe with the IRIS now available, it will dominate the civilian market. It's an excellent laser for the money. They got the power settings right finally so you're laser isn't overly bloomy on the targets for once. It's a nice piece of gear to have. These other chyna companies will be struggling for sales unless they can find a way to get lower prices and step it up like Holosun did with the IRIS. |
