I admit I have an unrealistic Marine Corps attitude of wanting a knife that will stab a rino, hack through concrete, and still slice tomatoes. Oh, and be lightweight. Looking to replace an Emerson Commander. Its slim and lightweight and tough but, thats about it for me. I confess i bought into the Marcinko/SEAL fanboy craze. Some will consider this blasphemy but, I've always HATED the chisel grind. Combine that with the serrations and that recurve and its a bleep'n nightmare to keep sharp. And ya can't cut anything straight to save your life. I'm looking hard at the Spyderco PM2. Lightweight, pointy, sharp as hell. My only concern is, how does it hold up to heavy use? Is it thick enough? Not going to be batonning wood but, shaving feather sticks? Light prying? Any other brands models I should consider? Thanks! |

A Spyderco will last a lifetime especially a US or Japan made one I have a number of Emerson’s but have gravitated to knives without a liner lock simply because liner locks suck with gloves on for me Over the last year I have tended to carry A Spyderco Pacfic Salt A Freeman 451 Or a Gerber 06 auto I would look at Gerber, Spyderco and Hogue All have good knives |
