My brother gave me a black powder rifle recently and I have a friend who's been into muzzleloading for a long time who has been teaching me about BP shooting. With that being said, if I was buying a used BP rifle, I would make sure the barrel was taken care of properly. BP is very corrosive and if not cleaned properly, can really mess the barrel up. It takes some effort to go out shooting and clean them if you're used to not cleaning after every trip to the range. Long story short, inspect the barrel. |
