Greetings gentlemen - I have had my eye on a Type 14 for awhile, and wondered if I might pick y'all's collective brain as to reasonable value. Minimal pics as it is not mine (yet..?). It is a 18.11 first-series Nagoya/Nambu with the typical three marks on the right side of the slide. There are two mags, one blue and one apparently nickel (?). Both mags are known mismatched. Seller doesn't know how to disassemble so unknown matching regarding other serial numbered parts. Comes with cleaning rod and holster without strap. Verdegris on holster snaps make holster appear original. Asking price is $1000. Attached File Attached File |

I haven’t kept track of jap gun pricing for a while. In the 1970’s/80’s they were cheap, mostly under appreciated and took a back seat to the German stuff. People in the last decade or so have woken up to the history and collectibility of these, and prices have climbed. I think without more info, a fair start would be $750. I might be wrong, but think a grand is a bit over market. They are fun guns to shoot ( my brother started loading Nambu ammo in the 1970’s- 8mm Nambu brass was one of midway’s first products when they were a tiny shop) They are known for breaking firing pins, and I believe when issued a small pocket in the holster would hold a spare. The couple pics make it look like a real nice example - due to rough tropical conditions humidity salt water sand- a lot are not in as nice a shape |

Thanks! Yeah, if it were absolutely confirmed all matching down to the mag I think I'd already own it. Will see if there's any room on price. |

| I just watched a few of these in similar condition go through a local auction, and they all sold around 1k plus fees. |

If you are into collecting WW2 firearms, you'll probably not find another nicer one at that price or cheaper. But, they are basically a ''rock candy'' gun. They are not for shooting, they are just for lookin' at. |

With matching clam shell holster, bring back papers, the GIs record's and his obit. A bit of an oddity that never fails to turn heads when I pull out the paperwork. |

Unless you are made of money reloading makes shooting it every so often affordable. I shoot all my old classics, even guns from the 1870’s loaded with black powder cartridges- definitely a conversation starter at the range! |
Got it today.   The serials I can find match.    As known, mags don't match. Blued mag hard to photograph - possibly 417?   Holster, has cleaning tool and extra firing pin, possibly 247?      Anything else ya'll want to see, let me know...comments, critiques most welcome! |
