I’ve typically subscribed to tactical lever actions being “fake news”. I’d rather keep a Winchester 94 carbine in factory form and everything else “tactical” is an AR platform. That being said, one of our good customers who we’ve built multiple AR’s for came to us wanting a Marlin 30-30 done up with all the modern goodies and a smooth action. I referred him to Mad Pig and said good luck. After a year of persisting I finally gave in and started educating myself on the Marlin 336 platform and he insisted we source a new Ruger made Marlin 336 Trapper and start working on it. Attached File Spent a tremendous amount of time on this project. Did everything in house except for the Cerakote. The tolerances on these new Marlins are insanely tight. We had to work very closely with our Cerakote applicator and I still ended up polishing the lever down where it pivots on the takedown screw. No “internals” were coated so the bolt is still stainless, I just replaced the extractor with a new blued one to contrast some of the shinny out. Build List Attached File It turned out quite well.
