I've owned 10/22's in the past, I've also owned a Marlin 25N and 60's. I found I preferred the feel and the sights of the 60's over the 10/22's so I sold them. I had considered a Charger for awhile but never wanted to do the SBR thing to it for a standard stock. But then I saw Ruger offered a factory SBR and since I had already done the Form for a suppressor I had experience in the process and bought it. They offer a Take-Down version with a 10" shrouded barrel and this non Take-Down with 8" barrel. I had purchased the CMMG Zeroed 22 at the same time and already had Primary Arms micro red dot and then a Surefire light with Fenix mount for any possible night time use. It came with one 15 round Ruger magazine and I purchased three more. This target was ~20 yards from a bag rest using CCI standard velocity I think 40gr @ 1235 fps, the suppressor tamed them pretty well and I could get away without ear pros. When I used Winchester 36gr @ 1280 fps the crack was too loud to go without ear pros. I also had some old Federal ammo, the little red boxes with 50 rounds called Hi-Power No. 710, I think 40gr @ 1240 fps, probably made sometime in the '90's, the suppressor handled these pretty well too, not too loud. I probably shot around 250 rounds total using the above ammo and only had 2 failures to fire from the old Federal ammo. Once I got the red dot sighted in it was just pure fun, I got bored with the paper targets and started popping dirt clods on the back of the 50 yard range.

There isn't much rail space and I didn't want to add any more attachment mods so I had to make do. I have more space to move light forward in the Fenix mount if necessary.

CCI standard is 1070 , 1235 is some high velocity stuff. CCI standard is easily the best quality American made 22 ammo. I won’t shoot Winchester or Remington unless I get it for free the quality is so abysmal If you really want to see what you gun is capable of accuracy wise the ONLY way to go is European standard velocity match ammo - it is expensive but will spoil you and turn you into a 22 ammo snob that scoffs at American made garbage |

Mini-Mags, but they were still noticeably quieter between them and the 36gr. @ 1280fps. |
