People who wear camo outside of situations that camo provides function (hunting, military ops, some LE roles, airsoft, etc) seem to fall into a few categories: 1) Rural / farmer types that spend their clothing budget on the best hunting clothing they can afford. Therefore when it’s really cold they’re wearing the best coat which happens to be camo. 2) Blue collar folks who don’t care or want to identify a certain way. 3) Vietnam gen vets trying to identify as such. 4) People who wear it intentionally and fashionably. More often the camo pattern I see herein is MCB or a MC knock off that has been saturated in green or grey. Just walk thru a Sierra store clothing section. |

I think you hit on 2 of its best properties: It doesn't make any sound and you don't have to wear it. |

That kit looks pretty awesome and the logic you constructed to justify it is the exact same (fake) logic I’ve been contemplating to justify buying something I don’t need: a MCB discreet battle rig. ETA: discreet low viz travel is also on my justification list. |
| Camo around here is pretty common. Kids wear old school brown camo to church and even adults wear it everywhere. Especially in the cooler months. |

Well, I RIT dyed some new USGI issue multicam uniforms over the weekend. I am not entirely sure I like how it turned out, but then again I was guessing on the quantities of the two dye colors I used (the only shade of Green available locally and Black). It looks more "grey" than anything else. You want pictures. I know. Maybe tomorrow. ETA: I dyed uniforms because they have virtually no resale value anyway. I'm selling off my stuff and NOBODY is going to buy the uniforms so I thought why not try it. |
