How hard was it to get the flash hider off? How did you remove it? How gassy is the Tactical when fired? Thanks. |

I don't have a tactical model, but it appears their muzzle devices are threaded on. There might be a set screw or loctite helping keep it in place.. The latter can be resolved with a heat gun or torch to soften up the loctite. |

I've used a 30 cal suppressor on my Ruger Minin-14 SBR - and the gas wasn't horrible - sound reduction? - well its an SBR 5.56 certainly won't be used like a Hollywood silencer and probably not good to shoot repeatedly without hearing protection George Clooney has a tutorial on how he made a silent Ruger with a suppressor from auto parts in a Garage in France.

No expert on the subject, but from what I've heard, It may be necessary/desirable to install an adjustable gas block, OR, a much cheaper gas bushing from a kit. Possibly experimentation with gas bushings and drilling-out a too-small I.D. gas bushing might work for a specific ammo. Generally speaking, most Mini-14s come with a huge I.D. gas bushing, Mini-30s not nearly so much. See HERE for adjustable gas blocks and gas bushings. It is also possible that a Wolff "Xtra Power" Recoil Spring, in a suppressed Mini might be an exception to the general rule about NO extra power springs needed in the Mini-14/30. |

I'm just wondering if there are actual physical differences in the mini mags, or if they are just .223 mags with laser engraving. Reason is, I have a good stash of .223 mini 14 mags, and I'm considering a mini in .300 blk, but I'd rather not have to invest in new mags. |

The “300 BLK” engraved mags are a CYA by the Ruger lawyers in case someone pops an unmarked mag loaded with 300 BLK into a .223 rifle and has a kaboom. |
