I have a brand new mini that I would like the barrel chopped to 16"+ & have the front sight refitted onto the barrel, any recommendations as to who I can use for the work? Thanks Frank |

I don't have the exact LOP figures written down, but off the top of my head, the old style wood is around 12 7/'8", the synthetic is around 13 5/8" and the new style wood stock with rubber butt pad is over 14". I am 5'11" with average arms, but prefer the short old style stock for the field. Shorter is better for shooting from unorthodox positions, uphill, etc. and better come cold weather when you are wearing a bulky jacket." For a couple of years Ruger was making a 16" barreled Mini. It may have been referred to as an NRA Mini. I know some of the guys who bought one also bought an older style butt stock to shorten the length further yet. Now a person can buy a Samson folding stock. The folding stock was not available except on the secondary market for years. For a while an original folding stock was going for upwards of $600. Samson has "fixed" that issue. Yes, ASI is the best in the Mini 14 business. kwg |
