Just ordered one, like the stock and hand guard, think it will be better than the laminate. Anyone have one and how do you like compared to traditional laminate/wood stocks? |

| Just picked up a 1895 trapper magpul Saturday at a gun show, only thing I'm adding is a Leupold 1.25-4 firedot scope and a Silencerco ASR muzzle brake for the Hybrid 46. The magpul furniture is perfect for me, going to be a beast of a woods gun this deer season. |

Love this gun, I get some people can’t get over the fact that lever guns now have threaded barrels, are stainless, have other than wood furniture. Fact is this setup is by far the best lever gun I ever owned and I’ve owned a bunch. Honestly, I’ll never buy a lever gun that’s blued with wood ever again. |

From a useful standpoint, imo they’re heads above a traditional lever gun, and even more so than the current Marlin trapper with laminate furniture. To each his own. |

If your wife is comfortable and confident with your Henry .357 I think you should stick to that same manual of arms. Yes, similar length Marlins are about a pound less in weight but there's an inherent value in sticking with a known platform (transfer bar Henrys versus half cock + safety for Marlins). I'm all in on .44 but if you're a .45 ACP guy (and reload for it) a .45 Colt levergun makes a lot of sense and some of the .45 Colt rifle numbers are absolutely mind boggling. There's been a few .45 Colt levergun threads in GD over the last week, some of those numbers are knocking on standard .45-70 loads. |

Final configuration for up coming bear/deer season, will be shooting 405 grn hard cast at 1650 fps 2200 ft lb of energy. Trijicon MRO Magpul 2 point sling Mlok 2 shell holder Hybrid 46 DTM I sighted 2” high at 50 yds and it’s right on at 100, be perfect for the area’s I hunt.
