I had a harebrained idea... Manticore arms talon 30 mm mount with a 30 mm tube based Red Dot in it. Possibly even using the rear strut alone and cutting the front one off. The one feature that the Red Dot must have besides the 30 mm tube and the ability to mount in a 30 mm ring is shake awake. Other than that I'm pretty open. I was looking at the hollow sun hs506 because it has a 30 mm tube it has Shake awake and it has a radical with a two MOA and a 65 MOA ring which I like a lot. Kind of makes me think of like an unmagnified Red Dot donut of death type of thing. Any other suggestions? For example it might be nice if it took a double a or AAA instead of a coin style battery? Maybe? |

I actually designed what you are describing back in 2011 to work with the then current 30mm tube aimpoints. It initially was a single arm Talon mount, but then I even worked up a way to make it slide back and forth a few positions with two mounting bolts. Ultimately, I did not think there was any market for it, and the short picatinny top rail + standard aimpoint picatinny mounts does the exact same thing with less weight and less cost.
