Can anyone explain how to change out the gas screw to me like I'm 5? Or have a link to a tutorial? I tried unscrewing my 11" since I don't have to remove the handguard and it seemed ungodly tight. From what I've gathered they're torqued to 71 in-lbs from the factory, but I couldn't get mine to even feel like it's starting to budge. I have screws to change out on my 11" and 16.5". I know there's no set screw size; that it'll be ammo and suppressor dependent. But bonus points to anyone who is running a Rhodie 6 on their 11" with IMI 77gr OTM, and a Rhodie 6K on their 16.5" shooting M193 that can comment on what screw sizes have worked for them |

Maybe try a t-handle type bit holder. Or a ratchet wrench with the right size socket for the torx bit size. There was no evidence of rocksett or loctite on my factory screw. Mine was extremely tight but it just popped and I unscrewed it. The screw has regular right hand threads also. I tried all sizes from 1.7mm to 2.4mm with my rhino-x but don't have a rhodie unfortunately. All of them had last round hold open on last round with PMC Bronze. I'm currently running a 2.3mm I believe. |

I got it finally. Definitely helps stabilizing the gun in a reaction rod versus just laying it on a table. I guess I had hesitation that a screw that small was that friggin tight. I put a 1.7mm screw in my 11" and a 2.1" in my 16.5". Very curious to know if the same size screws affect each barrel length and gas system length the same. You'd (or maybe just me) would think they'd have different screw sizes for each, but they both come with the 1.3mm from the factory and also share the same spring and buffer weight, so who knows. |
