I'm assuming the direct thread is the same shoulder taper they already have on the Virtus series that fit existing SRD cans? I would also be interested in seeing a discussion of the merits of 3D printing vs. traditional methods (machining and welding?) of silencer production. |

| Looks to me that after the mounting rails for the handguard on the upper receiver the handguards angle more inward while still having a full length 12 o’clock rail. From the other angle shown on the TFBTV video it looks like there is another row of MLok at the 2 and 10 o’clock as well. This is just like the SPEAR handguard. |

| From the close up on the Instagram video you can see that the handguard also lacks windows to adjust the gas settings. The gas adjustment valve sticks out the front of the handguard. The valve itself is looks a bit different and does not have the two long wings. The last part makes me believe that there is more going on than just handguards and might be a Gen 3(?) MCX. |

I still wonder if this is something that evolved out of the SURG program, much like how the MCX evolved out of the LVAW program and the SPEAR came to us via the MCX-MR from the SDMR program and NGSW-R programs. |

It has three vent holes along the forward part of the top rail before the rail and more importantly it appears to have a threaded screw on the top rear portion of the handguard for retention just like the Spear. Also the gas adjustment appears a little different. I created a new thread for this to stop polluting this one. |
