I'm having trouble with an M77 MKII and I can greatly use some advice. Rifle is a 223, later Mauser style ejector. 1998 production. Rifle is squeaky clean, extracts fine, will not eject. I'm not sure if the extractor has too much tension or if the ejector simply has a worn spring. WWYD? I don't know the round count but I would like to think the spring wouldn't wear this easily. |

Brownell’s used to sell packs of various size springs and compression pins like used in Firearms. If you have access to an ejector spring I see no reason not to try a different spring. If you have an AR-15 is the bolt action ejector spring have as much resistance as the AR-15 bolt ejector? If not I think I would try to inspect the ejector spring. |
| Unless I'm missing something here, the MKII doesn't have an ejector that relies on a spring. It ejects in the traditional Mauser way with a blade fixed to the receiver. Pull the bolt back sharply and the ejector blade will kick the case out hard. Ease the bolt back and the case goes nowhere. (This is very convenient for unloading at the end of a hunt in that you can drop the cartridges right into your hand.) |

In it you will find the parts that you "might" need (see Pg 32). Note that the ejector does have a spring, which might have failed. Suggest you download the manual and read it completely. This would be a good opportunity to order any other parts (such as springs, etc.) which you might need in the future. Keep the receipt and the spare parts will be "money in the bank". @Green_Canoe |
