Are M249 Barrels and M249S Barrels the same? Interchangeable? Or are the different like a semi vs. full Uzi Barrel? TIA |

If you're talking used barrels, the M249 ones for sale on GunBroker are worn out, the semi barrels are still good. I would not buy a used M249 barrel unless it's been checked with a throat gauge and head space gauges. Unfortunately, I have quite a bit of first hand experience here. Tony |

I've got one of those old fixed handle barrels....but of course, it's used and worn out. Sold on GunStroker as "Serviceable". Yeah, not to me. When I get some time, I'm going to break it down, make a new barrel, and reassemble it with the original parts. I tried my vintage Elcan M145 optic on my 249, but ended up pulling it off since I did not like having to crawl up on the stock so far. For me, it just doesn't have enough eye relief to be comfortable. Tony |
