Got this m1A a few weeks back. Got it out to the range and experienced stove piping issues pretty regularly. Attached File Empty cSe would get caught between the hump on the op rod, and front of the receiver . Ordered a new ejector assembly and extractor spring from Fulton armory, Got those installed now I’m having constant failure to feed issues when the bullet is feeding from the left side of the magazine Resulting in a failure that looks like this Attached File It’s like the rim of the case is not getting over the ejector. So I decided perhaps maybe I should cut a few loops of the spring to make it a little less heavy, still the issue. Then I decided to reinstall the original ejector spring Same issue. As far as I can tell the ejector spring channel is clear, but it keeps getting hung up and then It dents the neck of every single round it’s trying to feed At my Witt’s end. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Any good M1A/M14 smiths in dfw, Tx? |

Did it have this problem without the rail and optic? gun came with the rail installed. did not have the fail to feed issues when i first got it. was only having the fail to eject. bought the extractor spring and ejector spring/plunger in an attempt to address the failures to eject. the failures to feed are new since installing those. Haven't really worried about failures to eject at this point, because the gun wont feed (from the left side of the mag seems ok from the right side) failure to eject is taking a back seat at the moment, lol. |

It should be flush with the front ring of the bolt when properly installed I am not sure how you even got the extractor installed without the ejector fully in position. continue cutting loops til it sits lower?
