Ok this is not some dumbfuck newbie question (nothing against newbies. Welcome to the fold.) I want to downsize my guns. I have way too many for all the different scenarios both in situations and law changes that have made me over buy. I have wasted too much of my time over thinking things. I want to streamline my thoughts. I have three M11/9's (again, over thinking shit), plus an M16 and other NFA items. I live in Florida. With that being said, between hurricanes and other domestic situations that pop-off, which one would you choose have in the car as you transition locations? Figure in the possibly of having to cross state lines because of an emergency. This is a reality my family could be in. Never mind the laws and other BS we face. As we know, one round down-range is one too many. I never want to be in that scenario, but we carry a CCW daily just in case we are in the situation. Now on to the question... If you were in the situation of having to be mobile with the possibility of having to take a shot with a 16" barrel (Sub2000) at under 50 yards or less (non-mobile) which one would you go for as an all-around bedside, outside gun? Don't get me wrong, my FA's are going no where. Not going to sell those off. But what do you guys think of having five Sub2000's in the mix in the safe as well (all Glock mags, three in 9 and two in .40). Is that excessive weight in the safe? I have been selling off a lot of my handguns I don't use anymore. They were impulse buys or a backup to the backup Glock. I would have asked this in GD, but I can imagine all the non-specific , keep the bullet-hose comments that would be flippantly made. |

I really tried to like the sub2k. I bought and sold 3 of them; I just cant like them. Its a great idea but so poorly excecated. George Kelgrin is a genius designer but failed when he hooked up with the folks at Keltec to built his guns. NOPE no Sub2ks for me If you want something for a car gun Id consider an AR pistol with an 11 or 12 inch barrel in 556. OR a AR9mm with a 10 barrel using the original Colt/Uzi mags. If you expect large crowds Im a fan of the PS90, better yet SBRd. 50 rounds on board is a lot of "go away" and 5.7 turns cover into concealment |

I sold mine at $11k. my guess is they are below $10 by the end of the year. Why spent $11k on a $350 gun when you can get a clone MP5 and frt for $1500. |

Because there's ranges like the ones near me that allow papered machine guns but won't allow FRTs even though they're legal. They literally put out a newsletter email saying that the NFA paperwork and price of a machine gun means that you're a more responsible person than the average idiot and therefore will be more careful not to spray rounds over the berms. I've got an mg m11/9, but if they allowed FRTs I'd buy 10 tomorrow. So for now my actual mg is it. None of the other ranges in my metro area allow FRTs either. They all say it's too much of a legal and practical hassle. The only way I could have been able to buy enough land to shoot on is if I had moved here 10-15 years earlier. |

I bought my first M11/9 in 2020 because of all the Lage swag that was out there. I built mine up as a "real gun", not some thing cool to show my friends. It is awesome and better than any post-sample HK MP5 variant I ever had. Plus less grief to work on and way more lego'y. While the FRT's are a great thing for the gun community, MG's are isolated unlike bump stocks and anything forced reset. Those can be legislated away in short order at a state or federal level. Hell, I'm in FL and I can have a legit M16 but not an FRT. Make that make sense. MG's are at a stalemate right now because of pricing that has gotten away from the everyday man. Aside from that, I buy MG's and other NFA stuff because I shoot them, not admire them. Don't get me wrong, there are certainly MG's that are a collectable and better off with the less miles on them. As for the Flux, it is a great concept. I just can't do the Sig thing. Sig are innovators for sure starting with the serialize FCG instead of the frame like Glock. Even Ruger got the message on that one. I feel Glock missed a major opportunity when they released the Gen 6. It should have been a FCG serial. That would have been da bomb. Shit. I said "bomb". Man, there's another list I am on. |

I grew up in South FL, so I am very familiar with these concerns. I also own transferable MGs and post samples. Personally I want to have 5.56mm on tap if I need to use something. A good 11.5” 5.56 with a can, light, and optic of your choice is the perfect setup. I’m on the road for work a fair amount and have a “do-all” 11.5 with NF nx8, ACRO P2 in Arisaka offset mount, Wilcox Raid-Xe, Arisaka light/mount, and Hux Flow 556 as a travel companion. It sits in a courier bag with upper and lower separated. There is room in the bag for a loadout of mags, some tools, cleaning kit, suppressor, ear pro, etc. You could go with something like a Spear-Lt for the folding stock to allow it to be at the ready. I personally believe a good LPVO is king because it allows threat identification. No way I’d choose a 9mm, even with a 16” barrel over a 5.56 for serious use. Body armor is fairly common today. You want something that can punch most armor. 9mm is not that. |
