| I have a 29" M107A1 with roughly 400 rounds through it and I'm having some odd ejection issues. When i fire the rifle, the brass gets flung back and the case mouth hits the receiver down by the trigger pin/ safety selector area. The case mouth hits here everytime while its damaging the finish of the rifle thats not my main concern. The biggest issue is thats where my thumb rests..... my thumb gets destroyed by this and is quite unpleasant. Anyone have this issue or any suggestions? The rifle is unsuppressed, ejector is stiff but moves freely, extractor moves freely. |

Look at the dog leg of the charging handle of the carrier. There should be a few brass marks there to show where it's hitting there to knock the brass down and to the rear. The place it's ejecting brass is a new one to me. Never heard of the brass hitting there. |

Going frame by frame on some iPhone video, the brass seems to go below the charging handle without hitting it. Only rotating 180 degrees and smacking the lower receiver (or my thumb) with the mouth of the case. I may remove the ejector and extractor and deep clean, wonder if there's a bunch of primer sealant down there. Will post screen grabs of video when i get better cell service. Glad to help. It does sound more like an ejector problem. Removing the extractor is very easy and won't hurt to clean the edge anyway. I would bet there is a little bit going on with the ejector spring itself. When you remove the ejector pin, take a good look at the dpring to see if there is any damage to it when the ejector pin was installed. |

| Got the ejector/spring out of the bolt. Spring doesn’t look terrible but it’s not 100% straight. Oddly enough, not much primer sealant on the ejector or ejector pin bore…… however there are some metal flakes in there. It’s not brass but either steel or what ever the bolt is plated with. Very odd. I’m going to clean it up and order a new ejector spring. |
