So here's my situation. I'm looking for a carabiner kind of like the ITW Grimloc, but thinner on the base side, so that it can fit into this slot. I use this for keys, a hat band, a Thyrm Switchback flashlight ring, and other things.

Thanks for the help!

off the top of my head i'd say a simple nite ize s-biner, the 5.11 hardpoint, the exped pack carabiner or one of the many variants sold by m-tac. one of those may work for you.

Hill People Gear use those types of clips. Reach out to them and see if they can point you in the right direction.

I like the Nite Ize “G” series carabiners.  One end is kind of captured in one loop.  Similar to the S biners, but a bit different function.

I haven't really liked the Nite Ize stuff,  they'll work maybe, but I'm also looking for other options as well.

The 5.11 Hardpoint could be an option for going through the wider strap

I don't see anything in HPG's website, but maybe I'll reach out to them for ideas

I'm also on MTAC right now and maybe these ones:

https://m-tac.us/collections/carabiners/products/plastic-carabinergrimloc-black

https://m-tac.us/collections/carabiners/products/m-tac-mini-carabiner

EDIT: just bought all three. I'll try them out to see

Maybe one of those small S shaped double ended carabiners will work. Never seen a different version of what you’re trying to use.

What you want and what are perfect are Gate Keepers:

Seek Outside (hard-use hunting packs) uses them and endorses that they can handle a lot of stress for a little bit of polymer and steel gate.

Presumably you want one that operates like the Grimloc (in the way that it opens and the webbing slot that keeps it in place), and not a standard carabiner, of which there are many and would fit that slot. Is this correct?
