I can't check it against the can until that order process is complete and the can is transferred over to my SOT, which lucky for me is an indoor 100 yard range facility, so I'll get to run it while I wait. |

There have been times I regret not jumping on KAC parts when they’re available. Then they dry up and prices skyrocket. |
|
@Blackfoot_7 well I guess it was meant to be as Thoroughbred dropped the price on the last two kits so I scooped one up. No idea what I’ll do with it but I figure that’s a good problem to have. Let me ask this, between the Mk11 and M110 barrels is the difference just a threaded muzzle for flash hider vs non for can to index off? My thought process would be a M110 barrel and use a muzzle mounted can tell a M110 can clears. |

As far as I know the only difference between the MK11 and the M110 barrel is a target crown vs. threaded for a muzzle device, which is why both require different suppressors. I honestly don't know what else differentiates the two beyond that, but @Jack_L or @coldblue are better qualified to answer that question. First run yesterday. Zero failures/malfunctions, consistent 3-4 o'clock ejection, 100% reliable function. Flashy w/o flash mitigation and relatively punishing on the shoulder compared to what I'm used to. It seems to prefer 175gr FGMM so far. Doesn't do bad at all with 168gr PPU Match, which is what I run in the ACC. Assuming it'll tighten up as the barrel becomes more seasoned. Will also try out other factory loads and have my buddy cook up some hand loads to see how she does. Average for 168gr PPU Match is 1.34"/1.29 MOA. Average for 175gr FGMM is .92"/.88 MOA. I'd call the Rainier Arms MK11 Match barrel GTG so far. Will see how she does with the can whenever it gets here. https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img923/1528/K2o4g9.png https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img924/493/mt5yvz.png https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img923/1314/VuOhW8.png https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img923/6516/3RwDZ3.png https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img923/1184/d9YYZc.png https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img922/3613/Vfjnc0.png Good review. How would you compare recoil to your other rifles? Mostly likely that bare muzzle bearing you up? I have a 13.5 MWS that I like but a little shooting of it goes a long way. |

Not as soft shooting as my ACC for sure, but I attribute that to the bare muzzle combined with the bite of the A2. I'll probably end up running a recoil pad to save myself from the bruising. Not sure if this is par for course for running a MK11 without a can, but either way it just seems to be behaving in a way expected because of the lack of a muzzle device to mitigate some of that felt recoil. Neither of the two MWS rifles I've owned beat me up too bad when running a brake. In my experience, the MWS always seemed to be over-gassed and as much as I tried, I could never really find that sweet spot that allowed me to run it suppressed consistently and reliably. I would get it to a point where I thought I had it dialed in, but then I'd experience a failure and would have to re-tweak, and it got tiresome trying various solutions, tweaks and ammo types, and I wasn't ready to invest in the LMT can that was purposely designed to work optimally with their system. However, I never had that problem running the ACC, which ran QDC cans and my SiCo Saker without any issues. Both MWSs seemed to run fine, albeit a bit more gassy when not suppressed. Somebody built up a spreadsheet with manufacturer gas port sizes and the LMT MRP was among those on the larger side, which leaves me to believe the same holds true for the MWS. Years ago when I was researching large frame ARs, I came across a write-up (or maybe it was a video?) explaining why the MWS was over-gassed, and a reason given was that it was supposed to satisfy the British MOD requirement of being able to run everything from standard NATO M80 ball to precision/match loads, or any other type of 7.62x51 one might happen across during combat operations. Purposely over-gassing the system meant it should feed anything it was chambered for. I'm just regurgitating here, so I can't verify the accuracy to the information, but it does make sense considering my own experiences with the rifles. There are certainly pros and cons to the system, but I no longer own an LMT MWS. Originally Posted By : If I'm converting from a SR-25 Match to MK11, should I have the 24" barrel cut or buy on of the Rainier barrels? Thanks in advance for any advice. @kethridge00 Good question. I would prefer to keep a factory barrel with the rifle, especially if it groups exceptionally well. However, you'd have to factor in how chopping it down might effect reliability since KAC optimizes their rifles to run like fine tuned machines. When Ayan cut my 11.5 SR30 barrel down to 9", he had to open up the GP just a cunt hair to get it to run reliably. It's worthwhile to note that I experienced some issues when I had an MWS factory CL 20" barrel cut down to 16", which I was able to mitigate using various solutions (e.g. buffer, spring, adjustable gas key, etc.). I'm sure someone here who has experience with chopping a KAC Match barrel is better qualified to answer that question. Or perhaps contact the guys at D.Wilson MFG, Presample Depot, or NSDefense to get a straight no BS answer. |

What are the best resources to read up on the different m110/mk11 variants used by the military? Similar to some of the other clone threads. Breaking down each model and their specific parts, what optics, mounts, suppressors etc were used. Does anything like that exist? Really need a KAC Vickers book! |

Which gas block did you go with? Were any mods needed to the barrel or "just" get it pinned by Dave Wilson after sending him your parts? I'll send you a PM later requesting pricing and contact details for Mr. Wilson or please share here if you are comfortable. These are turn-in/DMRO parts pulled from actual service rifles. The barrel only required drilling for pinning, which Dave will do when installing it. He's got the pins, but you'll need to provide a rifle gas tube. Bottom line is they are good to go and mostly indistinguishable from the real deal. I recently contacted the seller and he has black and white copies coming. I like with the M110 that you can run another muzzle device until your M110 can clears. Though I'd probably prefer the Mk11 can from a size/weight standpoint. The non pure cloner side to me (gasp and hiss) is also considering going with an AE/Ops Inc type suppressor and see if somebody could make me a M110 style gas block with the front being an AE collar. This would give the "look" of the reflex can we know and love but also add some versatility to that can in being able to run on other hosts. Then again I guess a Mk11 can would force my hand into a Mk13... |

What is your go to scope/mount combo for a m110k1 clone or a delta emc trade in? Need some new glass and I’m trying to decide from a couple different options. Not sure I want something as big/heavy as a 5-25 but something I'm looking into. Needs to work well with a pvs30. ATACR 5-25 ATACR 4-16 Mk8 1.1-8 Mk5 3.6-18 Mk6 3-18 Mounts? Larue, kac, nightforce, sphur? Any input is appreciated! |

Correct optic and mount on a MARSOC K1 are Leupold Mk6 3-18 with T2 reticle and Leupold mount. I hate Leupold so on my Grade A EMC I have S&B 3-20 Ultra Short with T3 reticle and Geissele S&B mount. It’s an awesome set up but $$$. I have another Grade B EMC that I’m planning on getting NF ATACR 4-16 T3 and Geissele NF or KAC mount for. |

Plan on running it in a NF mount. |

I’m leaning towards the 4-16 with the mil-xt reticle. Just curious. |
