I have a Langdon 1301 with 2 years worth of Aridus upgrades. Having said that, I would never SBS my 1301. I would however buy a Mossberg 990 SPX Class 3 as a 2nd semi auto shotgun, if one were to want a semi auto SBS, which I do, and so, I will. Jay |

Looking deeper into this, I am starting to wonder if this is both a bad idea and overpriced. From what I can find they are simply cutting the barrel and refixing the front sight. They are not doing anything with the gas system or tuning the gun to run as well with a shorter barrel. Also, a couple things jumped out to me per the question/answer section of the video Langdon posted (linked below). First, they won’t thread for chokes, meaning you lose that option if your gun currently has it. And also makes me question the price being charged. The bigger red flag is when asked if the gun will still reliably run birdshot/lighter loads. They don’t directly answer the question and say they find the gun, without adjusting in the gas port, will reliably run federal flight control buckshot and slugs. That is further confirmation they don’t do any tuning and is a tacit admission the gun won’t reliably run shells used for training. (Comment to video also linked below.) So $350 for doing minimal work you could have done far cheaper elsewhere and end up with a gun that only runs $2 a shot ammo? I am hoping I missing something as I wanted to like this? Anyone? p.s. the whole they will only take the barrel separately for the work and then the receiver in a separate transaction is also odd to me. | Specialty shop charging specialty rates is nothing new. How are the front sights attached? Price might not be too crazy depending on that. Or you could send your barrel to Rose Action Sports and have it shortened up and chokes put in if it's possible to do so. Win Win. |
