I have a SR-25EMC with the QD endplate in the picture below. The Castle nut is almost certainly installed backwards (unless its some weird Knights thing which I doubt) and is longer than the typical Knights castle nuts for their QD end plate that seem to stop at the same length of the end plate itself. The Knights Armament non rotational QD end plates that I see for sale now do not have a hole all the way through from one side to the other so is the one pictured here an earlier generation without the rotation limits or not actually a Knights part? Knights QD swivels will not seat and stay attached, but some others such as Blue Force Gear swivels will attach and stay solid in the socket. Or would "older" Knights QD swivels work but not newer ones? What is the silver colored pin in the socket that seems to go through it vertically on the side closest to the receiver. Would this QD end plate or one like it have come originally on the rifle?   |

Definitely the earlier version, without rotation limits, of the now p/n 22051 receiver end plate QD sling mount. I’ve owned several that had issues with sling swivel compatibility - the current ones (with rotation limits) are much better. As Postal0311 noted the stainless pin you see is the indexing pin for the receiver extension / buffer tube. And that is certainly NOT the correct castle nut - I doubt that is even a KAC-supplied part. The correct one for that era of end plate would be the pin-in-hole CAR-15 style lock ring without staking notches. Hope this helps! |
