I’m having a little bit of quandary over which 6.5 model upper or full rifle to focus my search for. Full transparency for those unaware, VA is set to implement an AWB starting July 1st. As it stands anything manufactured after that date is off limits. A lot of folks in our state are scrambling to sure up whatever we can ahead of that date. My question to this group is what has everyone’s experience been with the 14.5 and 16 inch 6.5 uppers? Is the major difficulty of sourcing a K7 (whenever they drop if in time) or do you find the 16” to have better performance and thus worth not struggling to acquire. I do have a V2 SR25 lower so I’m flexible on grabbing an upper or full rifle of either. I have access to range out to 1000. I already have a Mk11 and an APC in the safe so looking for some variety. What’s the opinions? |

If you are in a time crunch, why not just buy a Geissele or LMT? LMT probably makes the best sense since you can swap barrels and stock up on spare parts if you are stuck in The People's Gendering Bending Republic of Virginia. I'm not being mean towards KAC, but I am looking after your interests given the time crunch here. I want a K5 and KS-2, but I am not holding my breath this year at the moment. Perhaps I will be wrong in a week or two. I signed up for a few different websites. Seriously though, other than those earlier 6.5 Creedmoor 22" uppers released intermittently the past few years, who here has actual trigger time behind any of the new 6.5 Creedmoor SR-25 K series rifles? |

Blind optimism I would guess. I’ve been fortunate enough to snag a full KS-1 and a V2 lower in the last week, so I’m hoping my luck continues. I’ve had several opportunities to grab a K6 just don’t know if that extra 1.5” is the move or now. |
| Virginia guy here, so I’m in the same boat. I bought a 16” Geissele MRGG to help fill a void. I would like a Knights but time is ticking fast. The rifle is a hammer as I was shooting head shots on steel at 250 yards and head is 3”x3” with ease, that being said I’ve only got 100 or so rounds through it. I bought a K5 and hope to get it approved pretty fast and also have an ACC. I want knights 6.5, probably be a 14.5” or 22” upper if time runs out. I tried to get KS1 but no luck. I sbr’d a sr15 and will at least find an upper one day( doesn’t hit as hard as a factory one but times are strange). |
