got it at a good price and it's like new. Never saw one before. I had been looking for a woodland, black, or OD slick one for some time. Woodland would be better for my area but Dcu works pretty well In the fall / winter. I almost bought an LBT one on eBay but that new super bright tag on it turned me off. they used to not be like that I know LBT makes a bunch of colors but I never saw an eagle one besides woodland, black, and OD. Hope I’m wrong but the fabric doesn’t look right. Never saw anything Eagle with that kind of fabric. Maybe it’s the lighting? |

| I can’t remember if they were/are DCU or just coyote brown, but our MTACs had those and most of them would abandon the, when they rotated out. No one else ever wanted them, so I have at least two that I know of. |

The one i used for duty and held surprisingly well was a black Eagle one i bought used in the early 00's, i think it has '93 dated buckles. I remember when the lightfighter was all the rage even here in italy around 2005, but i never bought one, it's still a missing item in my collection. i think the Eagle rucksack that was issued to security forces (multi mission pack or DFLCS pack) stemmed from the RAID. i found a couple including one in UCP for 3$. Over time i accumulated a few 3 days pack (London Bridge Trading, the larger AWS one issued to TACP, the original Lowe Alpine that started it all, a couple of the radio packs). Regarding the Becker Patrol Pack i had a new one i traded to a guy for other collectibles, i honestly never understood what it offers, looks to me like a glorified school pack. However it is cool and when i discovered that that pack was popular with french troops (or a issue item) i found used Eagle and Blackhawk ones for around 15$ in vintage clothing apps. they also have another brand with a name like ARES or Opex or Patrol, but they look like cheap quality ripoffs. |

I picked up the OEM Eagle BPP in an odd era where I wanted a newer patrol pack than the ALICE pack, but the "tactical" pack market was really making solid strides with frames/suspension and MOLLE webbing all over the place. What I found that BPP very functional for was as a range pack. I could load it up with a lot of mags in the various pockets and range kit. It carried well from the truck to the range, but the pack concept kind of sucks as a "patrol pack" for anything more than 30 pounds or so. ROCK6 |

Probably from some old store, still with tags and prices in Lire, he sold two black BPPs already. Not cheap tho. From the 1996 Eagle website the aIII pack was 119.92, the large aIII was 126.58, accessory pouches were 14.92 and the Becker Pack a whopping 213.63. |

Excellent score. That price would have been good for just the pack, but even better with the belt and lashing straps. I still have my first OD A-III, one in black that I've used as a laptop bag for the last 19 years, one Multicam, and one Ranger Green w/exterior PALS, (and a large Becker in woodland with the frame sheet). I might have one original Eagle A-III frame sheet, but a couple others I added the ATS frame sheet which they still make. It's well worth the price versus trying to fabricate a frame sheet with edges protected to avoid wearing through the pack fabric. I would have liked an original woodland A-III back in the day, but if you inflation adjust some of the old prices people are quoting, these things were never cheap. But worth it for solid consistent materials made in US. I'm increasingly concerned my homeowners insurance would start treating this and my small pile of Eagle discrete cases and shooting mats (DB-BS, HSRC) as collectibles and not cover them in the event of a loss. |

I have an extra internal frame insert made by Prometheus Design Werx since it was designed being too tall for one of their top-loading packs I purchased. just a stiff frame with aluminum tubing "U" shape; that might help resurrect it a little. That said, your pack design sounds...interesting That said, this year I'm going to get serious about offloading several packs I just don't use or need anymore (Kifaru, Arc'Teryx, Large HSGI-modified ALICE, and probably my Large Eagle BPP...). Dug out my old black one from a box. It has buckles dated 1994, i bought It used around 2000 and used extensively. It Is the original pattern without camelbak sleeve and other updates. Next to It Is the original model that John Carver copied to make the A3, the 1986 Lowe Alpine Adventure 3 (get It? Adventure 3/ A3). They are almost identical copies, someone with better knowledge about sewing than me could sure notice more reinforcement and bartacks on the Eagle one that definitely feels sturdier.

Ok I’m never going to use the hip belt and side pouches. Where is the best place to try and trade it? I really want an OD or maybe woodland. But I have wanted an OD Lbt one for like 30 years now. Now I like the eagle version a bit better and it would be cool to get one in The color I have wanted. I would love to trade mine for an OD one even If it’s missing hip belt. I have the Blackhawk frame for these too. If I need side pouches or hip belt I’ll use one of my better packs. well I found a OD green LBT with yellow tag for not a horrible price. LBT has their sale on and the woodland molle version is only like $125 BUT shipping is $50  So I found a used older one in OD and actually my unicorn as I have wanted one since 1996. I'll probably keep the DCU one

Just got my real grail items a yellow tag LBT 3 day in OD Listing stated "Ranger green" But it was OD (I didn't think RG was around when the Yellow tags were around so I took a gamble) Just realized the LBT ones do not have ice axe loops. this one has "IDEAL" brand zippers, is that correct? I almost bought a knock off ESEE knife on eBay so now I don't trust anything  It looks and feels just like I remember the one I used to play with at the store in 1996 It was $99 back then and adjusted for inflation I paid less Well worth the wait! I may now get rid of some other packs (wife saw this in the mail ) but I think I have to keep this and the A-III DCUJust perfect! Attached File |
