Is this a semi- or full-auto sear/disconnector/whatever FN calls it? What is the difference? All I can find online is mention of "bunny ears" without any real description - sometimes with photos that also have no real description and look like they were taken by Ray Charles. |
It’s the safety sear. It’s the same for SA and FA/select fire. The difference between SA and FA is the disconnector at the rear of the trigger pack. On the FA, the back of the disconnector is longer so that it can rotate out of the way as the primary sear is pushed farther rearward for FA function. Additionally on later generations of the SA guns the front safety sear engagement notch is relocated so that the hammer sits higher when held captive by the safety sear.
