What I mean is, the Sparrow is only $100 more than the Skarv. I want another .22 can for a rifle i don't even own yet. I have an OCL Ti for my on Mark IV, don't really shoot pistols much. Local store has an Offgrid Scorpius and I was really tempted there, but printed .22 cans in my mind just don't seem like a great way to go given how dirty they are. I do have a sonic cleaner, but how well does that work on sealed .22 cans? |

| The Sparrow is just fine. It has some FRP, which is more noticeable on pistols. It's rated for all your magnum calibers and FA, and the Skarv isn't. If you're worried about weight and want a cheap 22LR can, get the Skarv. If you want to do magnum rimfire, get the Sparrow. If you're more worried about sound and have the budget, jump up to a Mask or OCL 22. |
| I have a Sparrow, Oculus, B&T Tiger and SAW Katan and honestly the Sparrow hangs with the best of them on a rifle. The Tiger is a little quieter but the only one that stands out is the Katan which is noticeably louder. On a pistol the Sparrow does have obvious FRP. |

Silencer Analytics had it as one of top ones. The Sparrow would go on a rifle, so if no FRP on a 16" barrel, that would work, no plans for it on a pistol. Debating between it and one of the new flavors of printed, but the cleaning and cheaper price make it attractive. |

I own a Sparrow, DA Mask, ancient Gemtech Outback II, and two OCL Ti 22s. If I were buying another 22 can tomorrow it would be a third OCL. It’s just as quiet and easy to clean, but much lighter weight. |

I have a Mask and an OCL Ti already. I like variety and was think of a different can. I had been thinking of a SAW Katan, Scorpius, B&T Tiger, or the like. Are the printed .22 cans vs the OCL Ti or others worth it? Would love to hear a closed system versus each other. |

I don’t like making plans for the day. Because then the word "premeditated" gets thrown around in the courtroom.

Ill be the outlier and say I wouldn't buy one with all the other, newer options out there. I really only shoot pistols for 22lr and frp is something I do not want (due to sometimes shooting critters in my backyard). Yes it walked so others could run. Yes it comes apart pretty cool. But for 300 bucks. Id rather just spend another 100 bones and get to the front of the line (performance wise for pistols). If it was like 200 bucks and I was only shooting on rifles? Sure maybe then id buy it. My current favorite is the mask. Damn near checks every single box I want. If youre looking at printed cans, check out the pluto 22. Super lightweight and crazy good performance. |

It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me buy something when better known options are available, for minimal added cost. |

I'm on a bit of a .22 can tear lately, the B&T Tiger is my favorite of the cans I have. It really does sound great on pistols and rifles, and is very light at 3.5oz. I also might have my oldest son use it on his .223 hunting rifle this year, which is a cool capability. The Katan is designed to be low backpressure and it does that, I'm just not sure how useful that is to me on a .22, my 10/22 and pistols don't seem to be staying much cleaner with the Katan. I do most of my shooting in the woods around my house, and it could be that the forward gas flow is getting reflected back at me or something like that, but it is noticeable louder than the Tiger and Oculus on pistols to me, and louder than those two and the Sparrow on rifles to me. It can also be used on .223, which is nice, but if I were doing it over again I'd get a second Tiger instead. It's kind of crazy to me that I'm seeing Tigers on sale for ~$300 more often, but the Katan is going to opposite direction with a price increase up to $520.... Hard to figure or justify that. I submitted an F4 on my Off Grid Scorpius today, so maybe I'll be able to pick it up this weekend and try it out. I've got high hopes for the Scorpius, the reviews and Summit test data on it are all positive and at ~2oz it should be great on my pistols. At ~$370 shipped the Scorpius was also reasonably priced. I did see a Farro's lead farm video on Resilient's new Miami .22 can, they seemed to think it was as quiet or quieter than the Tiger which would be pretty impressive. |

Super lightweight and crazy good performance. Same here. I recently purchased a TBAC 22 Take Down for less than $50 more than what someone else recently paid for a Sparrow. If the Sparrow was $200 I would probably eventually grab one or two, but for $300+ there are better options out there for not much more money. |

I think that a pretty solid argument could be made that it was never a great PISTOL silencer, but holds it's own on 16"+ Rifles. This is true of essentially all monocore designed cans. It's 15+ year old tech. There are better options out there now- for the same price or cheaper. I would not recommend buying one in todays market. |

For you guys shooting the B&T Tiger and other printed 22 cans, how are they to clean? Wish I could find some of those sales! Online sales with the transfer fees are often a wash. |

I don't think that's an outlier opinion, I think it's been the mainline opinion for a while with some folks losing the context of pistol vs rifle and declaring the Sparrow loud all around, which has never been true on rifles. On rifles I don't think it's just ok, I think it's actually quite good. I do have cans that I basically don't use anymore because they are so outclassed, the Sparrow isn't one of those, but it's days on pistols are over. The Sparrow wouldn't be my choice for a new can these days either, it's just In this this thread it seemed like the OP already had a Sparrow, so there's not much use dogpiling on a done deal. |

As has been said, why buy a Sparrow when there are options for the same price that work at least as well on rifles, way better on pistols, just as easy to clean, plus lighter weight to boot. |

Because I already own them. I’m happy with my sparrow, but will be looking for another .22 can in the future for other guns. |
