+1 on the feed box tacks. The shroud is a bit of a pita as I had to tack, adjust, tack adjust etc to make sure we didn’t start having issues with the bolt/cocking tube support dragging. I plan on doing a better vid but here’s some tips so far.  Failed To Load Title |

If you have the trigger pack and can play that way then its for sure worth admission.

The 21 length shroud looks much better with a 14’ish” barrel vs the 17.7”. |

They are there, zoom in, it's just not the best pic. The welds are just super clean and well done...(Not by me) ..he a better welder then photographer. 3 sets of welds though as spec. |

Since Cryostructure has a never ending ETA I bought the 14.5”. Figure I’ll have one of each barrel length when it’s said and done. That’ll let me at least finish this build before mid 2025…🤣 |

Well, Got the welding done. it took some heat and now the carrier just catches the trunnion where it steps up. Takes a little nudge to get the bolt fully in. it looks like some slag at the transition is shoving the bolt tube guide down and pushing it into the trunnion. Will sand that out. Also the barrel shroud moved on me enough to make the barrel a little tough to get in and out. I am going to try and run a TIG bead on the bottom of the shroud to shrink the metal and hopefully pull it more into square. This has been a challenge for sure! |

I wasn’t happy until I could push the carrier into battery (with no rollers in the bolt) with my pinky. It is super smooth now but I need to get my barrel before I know for sure if the shroud is aligned properly. |

| Back to frustration street…. If the shroud is aligned so I can smoothly insert the barrel, the carrier binds. If the carrier is smooth I can’t insert the barrel because the barrel binds at the front of the shroud. Damned if I do…damned if I don’t. Back to the drawing board. |

I dont know yet, GG on HKP has done one of each and says the B style is holding up. The advantage I see with it is everything is in the right place vs trying to get everything in the right place with the other style. I may take a stab at it this weekend. I think at a minimum you would be able to demil the B to your likings vs some very choppy cuts on the A's. |

I’ve played with this a bit tonight with a messed up blank. I think with a B kit you could have a very functional weapon really quick vs an A build. I think the A would be the best long run option though. I was counting on my copper mandrel fitting in for this purpose but that doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen.

Ignore my welds. I’m not a welder. Attached File Attached File Attached File Forgive the fat fingered one handed barrel change. Was holding the phone with the other. Finally got the shroud aligned and the barrel inserts buttery smooth.  21 nearly done! All that’s left is cleaning up the weld at the front of the feed box/shroud, trimming the semi auto HK91 pack to accept the HK21 ejector, and playing musical chairs with the rollers and NOS locking piece I have to get everything wrapped up for a test fire. If all goes well it’s disassemble and sandblast time. |

Question for those of you with kits…how is your trigger packs cut for the ejector and what does the ejector look like? Two kits and two distinctly different packs and ejectors… Attached File Attached File |

You are correct. There are 2 versions of ejector levers. Type 1 the bend is lower and the pack housing requires more of an opening and deeper. These are more abundant from the kits I have seen. Type 2 the bend is higher and the pack housing does not require as deep of a cut for it to sit low enough. If your housing is cut big enough for a type 1, either will fit and work fine. If you housing is cut for a type 2, then a type 1 will NOT sit low enough and could cause issues. When I modify a housing for the lever, I just always do it big enough for type 1, that way you don't need to worry about what type you have. |

Already modified my HK-91 pack for my ejector lever (the one on the right). Good to know though! Finally got the 21 DONE. Barrel fits great and the carrier moves like butter. Been a shit show but got it done finally. Not sure I ever want to build another roller lock after this… Bolt gap is right down the middle at the 0.33…perfect. Test fire tomorrow. Then tear down and refinish time. |

What barrel did you use? .33 = .013 I believe (I always do inches), I think that's perfect, mine is .012, it's running so smooth I'm not messing with it. It actually is higher with the stock LP, when I go to the 36 or 40 degree it drops a tiny bit down to .012, but it runs so sweet I'm not gonna dick with a good thing. |

Welp, mine is ready to test fire as well! Real happy with how it's all turning out, this was by far the most challenging build I have done, and I have done a lot of different stuff from kits! Going to test fire, weld sights/rail/handle, then on to refinishing it all. I have learned a whole bunch about these roller locks from this, and that's awesome knowledge to now have packed in the brain housing group.  |
| 300 rnd test fire complete. Now to tear it down, sand blast, degrease like hell, and refinish. Bought Duracoat HK black since I don’t think the wife would appreciate me baking it in her oven. Going to find some parkerizing solution and knock out a few small parts too. |

Need some help here. My gun is completely together but its having an issue advancing the belt. First of all, yes the lug on the belt feed mechanism is engaging with the bolt carrier. However, this part: Attached File Seems to have an issue. It seems like it is supposed to be biased to the left, being driven by a spring inside this part: Attached File But it doesnt always snap all the way to the left. Frequently it will go about 80% of the way to the left then stop. When this happens you can pretty easily push it with your finger the rest of the way. There doesnt seem to be any binding, almost like the spring in picture number 2 isnt strong enough. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement spring? Or, is there something else wrong and I'm misdiagnosing the issue? |
