Isralie Weapons Industries Mafteah. A 14" smooth bore with a recoil operated inertia action. It's overall length is 27 3/4 inches and weighs in at 5 lbs 11 ozs. The action relies on physical recoil energy to operate the action. Return spring around the mag tube. This design runs exceptionally clean as no gas or debri enters the receiver. Very long cleaning cycle, high round counts, extremely reliable, low maintenance, and it's light weight are the big plusses. Maybe the best part is that it was designed without needing a shoulder to be braced against. It cycles reliably without being braced. Capacity is the norm with 5, 2 3/4 inch shells, or 4, 3 inch shells. Of course 1 in the pipe. Thr receiver is completely drilled and ready to mount just about any optic. It's also machined for the micro red dots at the back. Milled for the MOS adapter so you can mount almost any micro red dot. An ambidestrous charge handle to suit your every need, left or right side charging. Exceptionally well machined and finished. I have not removed the Birdshead grip yet so I don't know what the interface looks like on the back of the receiver. Not a fan of the retainers holding the forearm safety strap on. I've already reversed them and the feel is improved. I think more change coming from me. This will become an SBS once I create a buttstock for it, depending on the interface. Maybe something out there that will fit? Anyways, here is some pics.        |

Tactical and breachers shotguns are often nicknamed Master Keys. I've heard the master key words applied to breacher firearms before. Didn't know it is Mafteah in Hebrew. Learn something every day I guess. |
