I've had a SLP for over 10 years and its been an amazing shotgun. It cycles everything and with flight control 00 Buckshots, I've been getting fist size patterns at 25 yards. I'm now considering transitioning it into a defensive - at least one of them - role but it needs a light. Would you post pictures of your SLP in a defensive role with light, or share your ideas of how equip one. BTW, I'm not a fan of the the FN Tri-rail Extension, its ugly as sin, heavy as shit and expensive as F..k. Thanks for your help! FN SLP |

I bought one of those really basic rails that went between my extended tube and the barrel. I think Nordic but it's been a few years. wasn't expensive and being polymer meant it was low weight. https://nordiccomp.com/product-category/shotgun/barrel-clamps-and-clamp-accessories/ |

Yeah, those clamp style ones won't work. The SLP has a sleeve over the exposed part of the mag tube making it larger in diameter. I dunno if Winchesters or Brownings have them. If you happen to know a welder, you could have them weld a chunk of pic rail to the sleeve. It would be cheaper ( but not cheap) than the tri rail grail thingy. I don't want to dig mine out to see if the tube sleeve indexes somewhere to keep from rotating though, could be an issue if you attach something to it. |
